Abbey Fitzpatrick speaks on how gender impacts what we eat at ‘What Makes A Man’
Abbey Fitzpatrick will speak at the ‘What Makes a Man’ White Ribbon Conference on ‘What makes a man think he is king of the food chain?’
Abbey is a Ryerson University student, completing her final year in Food and Nutrition. Despite her intense dedication to her academics, she is passionate about her roles as the President of the Ryerson Nutrition Course Union, the Assistant to the Chair of a Dietitians of Canada network, and most importantly, as a self-proclaimed foodie. Abbey is passionate about the social, cultural and emotional dimensions of food, and believes that sensitivity to these associations will enhance public health strategies.

Upon graduation this Spring, Abbey is anticipating the completion of her first full-length cookbook, complete with fun nutrition and foodie facts, and her own personal stories. Abbey’s future goals include the completion of a Nutrition and Food Master’s degree, and obtaining her accreditation as a Registered Dietitian, as well as the completion of a doctorate degree in Food Studies, setting her on the path to one day help develop and teach in a Canadian University Food Studies program. This appetite for the study of food, in combination with her extensive performance experience guides Abbey’s ultimate goal is to become a celebrity gastronomer and chef.
